Never lose your key again! This is our favorite accessory, and we think every Pitlock user should own one.

This handy tool serves double-duty as a keychain key holder, and as a wrench to give you the necessary leverage to remove / install a wheel at home or on the road. Please note that this tool does not include a key.

See below for additional product and sizing specifications.

Description

The Pitlock keychain tool fits through the cross-drilled hole in your Pitkey and then secures it with an included ring. This tool offers you enough leverage to lock and unlock your Pitlock skewers even when you are on the move. The keychain tool does not include a pitkey.

Unfortunately, this product does not work with solid axle nut keys, as they do not have a hole drilled in them.

Company is great, Jason is on point and answers any questions one has. The “Only” negative comment is UrbanBikeTech.com needs some modern adjustment: Installation videos/how to help potential customers wondering how certain products work. IE, the “Pitstoppers” and more advanced products.
I’ve purchased their locking skewers, seat post clamp and stem clamp: without the need of ordering a new key. Just put the personalized key # in, boom. You now have piece of mind that “most” of the “little bits” of your bike will not be stolen. I’d definately invest more money with Pitlock, if I knew how the other options worked… 10 out of 5 though.

I purchased a complete Pitlock kit because and am completely happy with the purchase as it offers me a freedom I typically did not have before. Now I can use a mini lock to secure the frame to a post and know that nothing will be missing from my bike during convenience stops. The key chain tool is a breeze to carry and allows for quick adjustments, especially to the seat post when needed. The Pitlock skewers were surprisingly lighter than my quick releases. However, I do not own a converter tool which allows me to use a torque wrench with the Pitlock key and so with not knowing the exact Nm, I place my regular skewers back on for mountain rides where the descents are critical.

This tool causes a loss in key depth and can be in the way of engaging if your thru axle Protrudes too far. I just cut my thru axle down a bit and it worked. This tool gives you nice torque and is worth the purchase.

Jason, I didn’t rate the products, as it will be several weeks before my new bike arrives. I’m sure that the German made parts are of excellent quality. As far as my customer experience, you were exceedingly patient, helpful, and knowledgeable. Also, I received the merchandise within a couple days, which is outstanding. I’ll certainly contact you again if I have any questions, issues or concerns. I’ve always been very fortunate to work for organizations that put the utmost priority on quality and excellent customer service, and it’s nice to see that that there are still places that hold those values dear. Thanks again!

Top notch quality…plus it now looks like I have some industrial jewelry on my keys. Style.

I think that for the price, the tool, keychain loop, and steel rod should all come together as one functional unit. The reason, because you cannot use the tool by itself, by hand, without using another makeshift substitute, such as a thin screw driver. Really shouldn’t have to do that. As far as customer service and general policies, your company is outstanding, expecially Jason, who’s patience and assistance has been exceptional! Thx for everything!

Good product, great seller. The Pitlock tool is the perfect length – just long enough so my keys fit above the Pitlock nut. Urban Bike Tech is great as always. I think I received the shipping confirmation about 30 minutes after placing the order.

    Brilliant. Perfect addition.

  20. Joseph (verified owner)

A bit expensive, but I understand they aren’t mass produced, so I can’t complain, useful!

  21. Max White

A little overpriced in my opinion having the lock on my keychain will be convenient if/when I get a flat tire.

  22. Eric Dobson (verified owner)

This went straight on my keychain. Besides its primary function, it’s nice to have a small solid connection to my bike even when I’m driving the car. Also, my toddler loves sliding the key back and forth.

  23. Adam R. (verified owner)

I love the feeling of this keychain tool on my keychain while holding onto my keys. I weirdly feels there is a nice “home base” to them in my hands. It is perfect for not losing the very small and easy to lose key also. The only complaint is I wish there was some a little bit more space for the skewer to go in before hitting the keychain holder. I feel like I am having to hack saw about 50% of the skewers I install to get it to work. At the same time…that could be my fault for not getting the correct length, but I am pretty sure I am. Would totally by again for my next build!!!

  35. JAMES SPAULDING (verified owner)

Would be better if the took came with some kind of quick release clip. As it, it’s hard to use unless you remove it from your key chain. Otherwise it works well.

The keychain tool is a little inconvenient to use as a tool, as it will not clear the end of the fork, requiring constant repositioning of the tool. The system could be improved a little by adding flats inside the center hole of the Pit socket for using an allen head key or socket on top of it instead.

  46. Gary Modrcin (verified owner)

Skewer length prevents usage hits key chain bar. Poor design

  47. David M. (verified owner)

It makes the socket key user friendly.

Super handy key! The only issue I came across was that after my pit lock skewers were inserted I couldn’t use the tool to turn the locking nut due to the length of the skewer. I’ve heard that can be remedied though by shortening it with a handsaw. Once I removed the attachment I was able to attach the tool to my torque wrench which worked perfectly! For the seat collar the tool worked perfectly

    Stainless steel. Nicely rounded edges.

Not sure this is better than a keyring, super fussy to use either as part of my keys or when separated from them. Sort of useful as a fidget spinner but would not buy again.
