The PITLOCK™ Ahead Lock provides a huge upgrade in security to your bicycle's front end. Up until now, bicycles equiped with forks sporting threadless steer tubes were at the mercy of any thief with an allen key. Loosen a couple of bolts (stem and topcap) and there goes your $700 carbon or suspension fork, not to mention your front wheel.

When tightened down, the Ahead Lock not only ensures that your fork will stay put, it is also strong! The thick topcap is CNC-machined from high-grade aluminum and is seats firmly within 1-1/8"" (1.125") steer tubes. For those people with 1" or 1-1/4"steer tubes, specially-made Pitlock™ top caps are available.

CARBON STEER TUBES: A couple of customers have reported being able to retrofit Reynolds Compression Plugs to work with the Pitlock bolt, however, as a legal requirement, Urban Bike Tech does not recommend altering other manufacturers' parts.
