This is currently the complete package in Pitlock's lineup. This set is designed to protect as many parts on your bike as possible given Pitlock's size and specifications. This set includes protection for your front and rear wheels, fork, seatpost, and V-brakes.
The wheel skewers use the legendary Pitlock locking mechanism to ensure that commuter and high-end wheelsets alike stay on your bike instead of in a thief's hands.
The Pitlock Ahead Lock locking top cap is designed to fit just about any bicycle with a threadless headset. Consider that a fork with a threadless steertube can be stolen simply by loosening the headset top cap and the stem bolts, and you'll see why it is so important to not only lock your front wheel to your fork, but also lock the fork to the frame. Available in both black and silver, the Pitlock Ahead Lock looks good, but works even better.
Rest assured that your seat will stay where it is with Pitlock's locking seatpost skewer. Using the same locking mechanism as the Pitlock wheel skewers it cheerfully protects your seat from would-be thieves.
The V-brake bolts are designed to fit most brakes on the market. Stainless steel spacers are provided to tweak the fit, however, you should ensure that your V-brakes provide enough space for the locking mechanism. The Pitlock mechanism is 16mm or 5/8" in diameter at its widest point. This set includes two V-brake bolts. The intention is to use one locking bolt on the front set of brakes, and one on the back. A thief is unlikely to steal only one side of a pair of v-brakes. This also helps keep the price of the set lower.
All Pitlock parts with exception of the Ahead Lock are cold-forged and CNC machined from high-grade stainless steel. The Ahead Lock uses the same steel for the bolt, but in order to save weight, the top can is machined in aluminum. |
