Originally designed by Pitlock to protect people's Rohloff planetary gear hubs, this Pitlock has finally released this 3/8" diameter version to work with Shimano's Nexus and Alfine hubs!
PITLOCK™ solid axle nuts use the same technology as the regular size locking skewers, however, they are 300% larger and designed to fit 3/8" solid axles used by Shimano. Because of the size difference, if you decide to use these nuts in conjunction with a PITLOCK™ seatpost or Ahead bolt, you will have to use two different keys.
These bolts are a full 1-3/16" (1.1875") in diameter at the base. Make sure to measure the area around your dropouts to ensure that you have room for these. Many suspension forks have tubular lower legs that end too close to the dropouts.
